Das Khwai Private Reserve, eines der am besten gehüteten Geheimnisse Botswanas, ist die Heimat von Sable Alley. Dieses luftige Camp zeigt komfortablen Luxus inmitten der üppigen Schwemmebenen von Khwai. Die geräumigen, geschmackvoll gestalteten Zelte habe eine große Veranda für entspannte Nachmittage. Der gemeinsame Aufenthaltsbereich verströmt Eleganz mit großen Sofas und stilvollen Accessoires, die die natürliche Umgebung widerspiegeln. Für die heißen Tage gibt es einen erfrischenden Pool mit Blick auf die Lagune. In der Küche wird modern und stilvoll gekocht - und lecker.
Direkt am Ufer der mit Lilien bedeckten Lagune, Heimat von Nilpferden und Lieblingstränke für Elefanten und Büffel, kommt das große Wild buchstäblich zu Ihnen. So verlockend es ist, einfach im Camp zu bleiben, Sie sollten sich dennoch losreißen, denn Khwai bietet eines der größten und exklusivsten Safari-Erlebnisse Afrikas. Denken Sie daran, das Fernglas für Löwen, Leoparden, wilde Hunde und all die anderen bereit zu haben, während Sie durch die vielfältigen Landschaften fahren.
Das Camp ist nicht nur anspruchsvoll und nachhaltig, sondern arbeitet auch mit lokalen Gemeinden in Khwai zusammen, aus denen die Mehrheit der Mitarbeiter kommt. Der Erlös aus Ihrem Aufenthalt in Sable Alley geht direkt in die Gemeinschaftsprojekte des Khwai Village sowie verschiedene Tierschutzinitiativen.

Meine Postkartensammlung war schon als Kind meine Glastür in die weite Welt. Leider blieb sie verschlossen, bis der Mauerfall plötzlich ganz neue Chancen bot. Mit meiner Ausbildung zur Reiseverkehrskauffrau öffneten sich für mich Welten und ich konnte endlich selbst reisen und meine Sammlung um die selbst gekauften Postkarten erweitern! Schnell merkte ich, dass Erlebnisreisen für mich viel mehr Tiefe haben. Mit meiner ersten Kenia-Reise war es um mich geschehen. Seitdem muss ich regelmäßig nach Afrika, sonst fehlt mir etwas! In Familie reise ich gern nach Südafrika oder Namibia, allein eher abseits der klassischen Reiseziele. Es sind vor allem die Naturerlebnisse, die mich immer wieder erden, aber auch die trubeligen Städte, die sich so rasant entwickeln, dass ich sie immer wieder neu kennenlernen kann. Heute hat meine Postkartensammlung Gesellschaft von meinem umfangreichen Fotoarchiv bekommen, und die Glastür ist jetzt der Sucher meiner Kamera, mit der im Gepäck ich die Welt am liebsten erkunde.

Twin/Double tents
There are 9 twin/double tents with 2 x ¾ extra length beds which can be converted into a king size bed. All tents are tented and raised on wooden platforms to maximise the views across the grasslands. Each tent also has an ensuite bathroom with an indoor shower and a private veranda, a mosquito net, an overhead fan, charging facilities, a writing desk and chair, and combination safes.
Honeymoon tent
Built in a landscape fashion, overlooking a private floodplain, the Honeymoon tent offers classic accommodation with a king size bed, overhead fan, writing desk, charging facilities as well as a private ensuite and private outdoor shower and bath.
Family Tents
The 2 family tents are made up of 2 tents, Adult section has 2 x extra length ¾ beds which can be pushed together to make a super king size bed with extra length. And, the childrens section has 2 x standard length ¾ beds.

Game Drives
Pirschfahrten finden am Vormittag/Nachmittag im Khwai Private Reserve, eine 200.000 Hektar große private Konzession, statt. Das Reservat ist die Heimat von Löwen, Elefanten, wilden Hund und sogar der schwer fassbaren Zobelantilope sowie einer reichen Vogelwelt.
Mokoro trips
Ein Mokoro-Trip verlangsamt sofort das Tempo und ermöglicht es Ihnen, sanft durch die Wasserkanäle zwischen den Seerosen zu gleiten. Bitte beachten Sie, dass diese Aktivitäten vom Wasserstand abhängig sind.
Guided Walks (seasonal activity)
Grab your comfiest walking shoes, and experience a guided walk through the bush with your trusted safari guide. You’ll come across so many magical sightings, from the smallest critters, to beautiful trees and birds. Learn how to track spoor and identify the different grasses and other interesting fauna and flora that make up this beautiful eco-system.
Boating (water levels permitting)
Jump on board our delta boats to cruise the Okavango waterways. Your experienced driver and guide will show you some of the best river sightings and sunsets. Keep a look out for birds, crocodiles, hippo and exciting game coming to quench their thirst, while you moor up along the river bank sipping a sundowner. This is what safari boat cruising is all about. (water level permitting)
Scenic Helicopter flights
Enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta. This is an incredible opportunity to appreciate the vastness of the Delta when seeing it from above. From your seat, door off (or on), you’ll be able to spot game, take exceptional photos and follow the waterways and animal pathways that shape this ancient wilderness. (Additional cost)
Fishing (seasonal activity)
A fabulous activity for families with kids.
We’re all about catch and release so ask your
safari guide to hook you up with a couple of rods.
Your experienced guide will pole you amongst the
lily pads and weaving sandbanks, showing you the
ebb and flow of this incredible eco-system.
Khwai Private Reserve Ranger Experience
Head out with the Khwai Private Reserve Rangers at
dawn to see the last nocturnal animals going to bed,
before the diurnal’s wake-up for the day. Being the
first vehicle out you’ll be the first to find fresh tracks,
helping the rangers with the predator identification
(all sightings are logged and recorded). You’ll spend
your morning tracking, patrolling and visiting
conservation projects. Enjoy a packed breakfast out in
the bush with the rangers, they will get you back
to camp just before lunchtime. (additional cost)
Khwai Village Visit
Go on a cultural visit to Khwai Village, located in Khwai Private Reserve.
You’ll learn about the Kgotla (meeting place in the village) its history and traditions.
Visit Khwai Pre-Primary School to enjoy interactions with the teachers & children.
Meet the ladies doing traditional basket weaving, as well as visit the Kachokachoka,
a traditional healer who’ll teach you about traditional medicine & local beliefs.
Tour can only be booked once guests are in camp (no pre-bookings).
There are strict dress guidelines when entering the Kgotla to show respect.
